Colon-Rectal Surgery

Colon-Rectal Surgery

We offer specialized services for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the intestinal system, including colon cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis, and Crohn’s Disease.

Our colon-rectal surgeons utilize advanced screening techniques such as colonoscopies and endoscopies. They perform both minimally invasive surgical treatments, including laparoscopic and robotic colon resection, as well as traditional surgical methods, including rectal surgery and anal reconstruction.

According to the American Cancer Society, colorectal cancer (also referred to as colon cancer or rectal cancer) is the third most common cancer in the United States. Through effective screening techniques, patient awareness, and technological advances, the incidence of colorectal cancer has decreased dramatically over the last several years.

Know the Signs & Symptoms of Colorectal Cancer / Colon Cancer

Most of the time, colorectal cancer starts as benign growths, or polyps, on the inner wall of the colon or rectum. Some polyps can then progress into cancer over time. Catching and removing those polyps in the early stages can be key in preventing colorectal cancer.

Some people with colorectal cancer may not even experience symptoms, and the symptoms can be confusing as they may be a sign of another condition. So, it’s important to know your body, and if you have any of these symptoms, we recommend you see your doctor.
